People's Carnival 2012
Another great event being planned
for the town
Its gonna be another great Carnival
weekend for Oldham in 2012. But there's a difference
to what went before - when all the activities took place
at Alexandra Park. 2012 will be split between the Town
Centre and Alexandra Park!!
Family Fun Day!
On Saturday June 23rd a Family Fun Day, in Oldham Town
Centre (brought to you by
David Cook Motors), is being organised with
lots of FREE stuff for the kids - bouncy castles, face
painting, clowns etc. There'll also be a small stage
with live LOCAL entertainers performing throughout the
afternoon. There'll be lots of charity stalls as well
and lots more which we'll tell you about nearer the
time. The Family Day starts at 11am and finishes at
4pm.
Picnic
in the Park
The
day after Carnival switches to Alexandra Park for a
'Picnic in the Park'. Its a chance to
enjoy the entertainment on our
stages whilst enjoying
an

old-fashioned picnic. The day
starts at 1pm and finishes at 9pm with two live stages,
the UK Dance Troupe Competition, fielf events, fun fair
rides, stalls and plenty of food, ice creams and sweets
for the kids.
Parade in the
Park
Lots to do then! But if that isn't enough, then there's
the colourful spectacle of the Parade in the Park!
Setting off at 3pm, this promises to be another great
event.
The route round the park was full of onlookers last
year - the first year - and 2012 should be even better.

PERFORMERS
AT CARNIVAL 2012 WILL BRING 'PEACE, HOPE AND HARMONY'
That's the mesage we want our perfomers to be bringing
to the People's Carnival in 2012. And to compliment
the message we've named our stages, yes, you've guessed
it..the Peace, Hope and Harmony stages.
There'll be one stage in the town centre during the
Town Centre Fun Day (brought
to you by David Cook Motors) on Saturday
June 23rd and two stages in the Park operating on Sunday
June 24th (brought to you
by The Oldham Academy North).
We
haven't decided which of the stages will have what name
yet, but the big stage on the park will be there once
again with a full eight hours of local entertainment.
