People's
Carnival stages have proved very popular over the
years. Such is the demand from local artists that
this year's event will include three stages - Peace,
Hope and Harmony.
One of the stages (Harmony) will be situated in the Town Centre
on the first day of Carnival weekend - Saturday June
23rd.
The other two stages (Peace and Hope) will be located at Alexandra
Park the following day on Sunday June 24th.
Our stage sponsor this year is the Oldham Academy North for the second year running and we would like to thank them for their valuable support. The show producers this year are SQUARE 1 and INTEGRATED YOUTH SERVICE.

Fri April 13th 6.30 - 10pm

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
If you are a local group or band, theatre company, solo act, singer, dancer of indeed any kind of stage performer, first you need to complete the form on this page and submit it.
Unfortunately, we do not pay for performances.
We provide the opportunity for you to perform live on one of our stages to an outdoor audience.
The Peace, Hope and Harmony stages - although very different in size - will all be supplied with good sound systems and qualified technicians.
IMPORTANT
The People's Carnival is a family event and as such we do not allow inappropriate and/or offensive material on any of our stages.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
The following will play in your favour more, in various ways, when we select the final performers for all three stages:
Age group - preference will be given to youth and young performers
|
Our stage is often booked to capacity
months before the event |
Locality - perfomers from Oldham will have preference over others
Originality - something new, different or jaw-dropping is always given a second look.
You may not have any of the attributes above of course. But that doesn't mean you will not get a spot - so still apply. The above criteria only come into play when we have to decide between competing performers.
If booked, you must abide by the amount of time we have alloted you and the rules and regulations of the stage management.
If you decide NOT to perform after we have booked you, then we ask that you notify us as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to another performer
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU COMPLETE THE FORM
OR WANT A GENERAL CHAT ABOUT THE EVENT AND SET-UP THEN

Last year's stage at Alexandra Park was a huge success - many in the audience brought picnics
