Booking Space at Carnival 2012

If you want to book space at our event to sell food or other goods, or you are a for-profit organisation, then click below. Not-for-profit groups can apply on this page.

Charities, community groups, sports clubs etc can book space absolutely free of any charges. The only thing you may need to splash out a little cash on is your own stall and/or tent/marquee.

CARNIVAL WEEKEND EVENTS

You can book to have space in the town centre at the Family Fun Day (Sat June 23rd 11am to 4pm) or on Alexandra Park at the Picnic in the Park (Sun June 24th 1pm to 9pm).

In the town centre we will be allowing non-profit stalls both inside and outside the Spindles Centre. At the park we have two fields available.

If you are a non-profit group you can register by completing the form on this page. After you've registered with us for space, using our online form, we will contact you, via your email address, to confirm your booking with us.

HOW MUCH SPACE?

The reason we need to know is to make sure we can plan if you want something more than the average.

Our general rule is that you should plan for a 6m by 3m space - this is generally adequate for an average stall with a vehicle parked beside it.

SETTING UP YOUR STALL

Sometime nearer the event, about a fortnight before, you will receive a pack from us containing all the details you'll need to know. We have to be fairly strict with our procedures so that we can organise the event safely and with the least amount of congestion etc. We will send you more details nearer the event via email.

COLLECTIONS

Once you have set up, either in the Town Centre on Saturday or in the Prk on Sunday, you can start to look forward to people taking an interest in what you have to say or offer, on behalf of your cause. As a rule you are allowed to collect money and hand literature out to the general public within a radius of 10 metres from your base plot. It is for the general public to come to you - not the other way round. We want the public to enjoy our event and not feel they are put upon every where they turn.

COMMERCIAL STALLS

By 'commercial stalls' we mean any group or organisation that sells or recruits for profit. Commercial groups can only book space at our Sunday June 24th event. The time of the event is between 12 Noon and 9pm. We have different prices for different commercial bookings. These are as follows:

Standard Commercial Stalls (clothes etc) - £35 for the day

Craft Stalls - £20 for the day

Information Stalls - £20 for the day

Toy/Balloon Stalls - £60 for the day

Sweet Stalls - £70 for the day

Food Stalls - £300 for the day

To book space as a commercial stall you need to complete our downloadable form, complete it and return to us with the full payment (or in the case of a food stall a deposit of £150).
